Abstract

The arts, such as language, tradition and customs, literature, music and painting, are cultural elements that passes from generation to generation. Relations between these items, whose numbers can be further increased, are so important that they cannot be denied. Just as a society cannot think of an independent music culture from traditions and customs, it can also not be considered independent of literature. If we consider this situation in Turkish language and literature, we can see that traditional Turkish and folk music cannot be separated from folk and divan literature. In this context, when the examples of folk literature that are composed by poets and poets and lovers are examined, it can be seen that there are similarities between literary features, form, structure and rhythmic features. In the same works where examples of divan literature are composed, aruz vezni is almost a living creature which echoes in the form of work, method and general structure. Literary structure is composed by the impact of words, the appearance of the aruz patterns in the works and the relationship between the components of literature and music. Considering that the rhythmic and melodic structure of a work is considered to be the most important elements that enable to express the meaning in the word; it is concluded that there are certain methods in which each aruz pattern can be composed. Method and melody are embedded to the poetry within the frame of the open, closed syllables, aruz vezni and prosody rules in the composed poetry. The inner and outer rhythms of the aruz patterns are combined with the inner and outer rhythm of the work. For this reason, all focal points in the works are arranged according to their specific patterns. In this work, melody-method-aruz relation and works of composers who can be considered as touchstone will be examined in relation to melodic patterns, melodic patterns and procedural patterns in the context of periods in Ottoman-Turkish music.
