EUROGRUPS IN DECISION MAKING PROCESS IN THE CONTEXT OF GROUP THEORY: REPRESENTED IN THE EUROGROUPS OF PRODUCERS AND CIVIL GROUPS IN TURKEY

Abstract

According to the group theory which draws attention to group fact and group effectiveness, organised groups around common interests in pluralist democratic system are in competition with each other for getting power and accessing to decision-making process so the prevailing groups interfactional competitions can govern the policies. Also in the EU, groups representing the interests of civil and producers interact with decision authorities in the form of national federations, intergroups, foreign groups and Eurogroups. Eurogroups delivering their opinions by providing information and expertise to EU instutions from these groups, are high access-level groups and the politics produced by both the national level adaptation policies and the EU decision-making processes get into act to influence these politics according to the organized interests at the European level. In this study, Eurogroups representing civil and producer groups in Turkey, namely as EURCHAMBERS, UNİCE, ETUC, UAPME, EURATEX, EUROCOTON, YES FOR EUROPE/JEUNE, AECM, COPA/COGECA, CCBE, EWL, EEB, EUA and CEMR are examined. Besides, benefits and expectations from this representation in Eurogroups of civil and producer groups in Turkey is tried to be determined.
