Abstract

Behavioral finance is a field based on the assumption that individual investors do not act rationally when making investment decisions, and has gained considerable importance in recent years. Sometimes psychological and personality-related behaviors, and sometimes social factors in which the individual interacts can have an impact on individual investment decisions. Behavioral finance enlightens the world of finance science as to how investors should act in financial markets, so analysis of investment behavior. The main objective of this study is to determine the financial and demographic characteristics of the individual investors in Erzincan and to measure the level of significance between them. The survey study prepared in this direction was applied to 390 individual investors in Erzincan province. Survey data were analyzed in the SPSS 22. 0 statistical program in the light of the hypotheses prepared for the subject. Positive and negative relationships between financial and demographic characteristics were identified as a result of the analyzes made.
