Atsız is one of the important Turkist authors, theoreticians and historians of Turkish literature in twentieth century. Atsız, who was born in 1905, passed away in 1975. He wrote novels, articles, and works about history of literature and Turkish history. In general, it can be said that he tired to express and transfer his thoughts about the feeling of Turkism. Atsız’s novel, which was analyzed in terms of maturing, can be considered as an important novel in terms of having important data about Turkish culture and folklore and data about maturing, in addition to being a historical novel. In Deli Kurt, Atsız tried to narrate the maturing process of Deli Kurt, the protagonist of the novel, through events which occurred within the historical process.
