Abstract

The aim of this study called “Fabulous Expression in Turkish Painting After 1950” is to set and collect the works of artists who draw attention with their fabulous depiction and whose names are frequently referred to in literature. For this purpose, firstly, the definition of fabulous expression has been explained. Secondly, Turkish artists who have visualized the epic world have been identified. Furthermore, their artworks have been examined in the context of epic expression. It has been observed that Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu, Cihat Burak, Ibrahim Balaban, Nuri Abac, Burhan Uygur, Can Goknil, Mevlut Akyildiz, Onay Akbas have adopted epic expression throughout their artistic life. Consequently, it is seen that analyzed artworks are built within a frame that is outside the acknowledged rules of perspective and that can only be seen in dreams or stories.
