Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to review the prominence that reveals itself in provision of educational services and intervention approaches during acute or chronic disasters. In this respect, the access for educational services in disaster-affected communities poses extensive importance as children’s psychological and physical wellbeing is ,to some extent, guaranteed by means of safe learning environments; a sense of continuity of life is awaken in children’s minds and survival of children is reinforced by educating them about diseases that could spread and about their prevention. In emergency contexts, the provision of educational services is realized by means of two dominating approaches, one of which is “humanitarian approaches” including some different methods and the other is “developmental approaches” focusing on an overall transformation.
