Abstract

In this study, the analysis of mathematics test of high school entrance exam in the short name LGS which was carried out for the first time by the Ministry of Education in the 2017-2018 academic year was carried out by taking the opinions of mathematics teachers. Qualitative research approach has been adopted in this study. In this study, the opinions of the teachers were taken by written forms and examined in different themes. Within the scope of the research, the views of the teachers were analyzed and the themes such as scope, difficulty, student motivation, reading the book, duration of the exam, thinking skills and attitude were formed. In the LGS exam, it was stated that the questions of mathematics test are based on interpretation of long text. Teachers who participated in the research indicated that the LGS mathematics questions are very different from the TEOG exam held in the past years. It is also emphasized that the difficulty of the math test has a negative effect on the students.
