When looked at social gender roles in general, they express the person’s sociologically determined identities. As known, research on the male image in terms of social gender in today’s art is not as much as the female image. In this context, it’s considered that the male image being an image supplementing the female image shouldn’t be neglected. The aim of this study is to draw attention to the male image in today’s art, to query and to examine the male images that change and transform in the context of social gender. In the study, as a sample in this context in contemporary painting, the male identities in works of today’s artists Nur Koçak and Yue Minjun, who have interpreted the male image as apart from its traditional roles, have been scrutinized comparatively.
