Abstract

This research article was designed to make an in-depth analysis of popular culture and body. İn today’s consumption society, the way concepts are perceived and their impacts have begun to differentiate. İt is observed that particularly images that media tools make use of manage to have perceptual influence on individuals in shaping societies in which these individuals reside. The body image as the main element of the article has been investigated at the centre of popular culture. As a result, it was determined that both woman and man bodies are used insensitively related to the perception that is sought to be created, and are exploited to affect the subconscious. The tendency by advertisements to make use of body as fundamental parts of consumption society reflects the truth. More and more coverage of famous people or women believed to have a beautiful face or a fit body in advertisements carried out in notably Turkey and served along with messages affecting subconscious clear shows that this situation will continue in the future.
