Abstract

Games have attracted people for ages. Today, the attractive effect of games on people continues even getting stronger with the support of technology. Gamification is defined as the introduction or application of elements of games – what make games so enjoyable – into other areas of life. The fundamental aim of gamification is to create motivation and maintain its continuity. An examination of aspects of music education reveals that it is mainly about skill building. Because of this nature of music education, motivation and flow state is extremely important for its success. Motivation and flow are inter operable dynamics that rest in the heart of gamification. Getting this over lapping a start point, this study isaimed to discuss the applicability of gamification in the context of education and music education.
