Abstract

Postmodernism is a movement which changes classical expression completely and offers a different point of view and expression possibilities to the narration through the new concepts it brought such as supremacy, intertextuality, dramatization, parody, pastiche. Another factor that Postmodernism brings a different point of view is re-reading history. This view, differs from the modern view towards history. According to this understanding; even though history is based on documents, it has been influenced by the attitude of the writer, and in this term, it has turned into a subjective text. Postmodernists who are nourished by the belief that "everything that is textualized happens on the ground and the language cannot convey anything other than itself", go to the way of writing historical facts like a writer. Thus, they see history as an area to be approached with suspicion. In the stories of Murathan Mungan, also feeds in which he feeds through historical narration it is possible to see the effects of postmodernism mentioned above. Related to this view, Mungan also creates new reading and directions in his narratives in the light of New Historicism. İt is also possible to see Murathan Mungan’s view and perception towards history in the story of “Ulak ile Sadrazam” which is in his work “Lal Masallar” as the writer handles a historical fact with a new attitude and reconstructs it.
