Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the academic studies on the usage of digital media by gifted students in Turkey between 2006-2018 . Qualitative research approach was used in this study and document analysis was preferred as research design. The sample of the study consists of 16 academic studies obtained from the National Thesis Center of the Higher Education Council (YÖK), Google Scholar, ULAKBIM and some of them were obtained from the authors themselves. As an instrument for collecting data ”Scientific Publication Analysis Form" was used. These studies were examined related to methodology, design, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques, years of publication and place. The results of the research show that studies on using digital media on gifted students are mostly seen in articles and rarely at doctorate thesis. When gifted students are examined according to the methods of research on using of digital media, quantitative studies have been found more than qualitative. Descriptive scanning model is mostly used in quantitative pattern research, and case study model is mostly used in qualitative pattern research. In the analysis, results were interpreted using frequency and percentages. As a result of this research, it can be concluded that there are not enough studies in this area and it needs to be improved.
