Abstract

From the 13th to teh 19th century, works of poetry and prose were produced in classical Turkish literature. In the Ottoman society where poetry is seen as the original art, the artist’s prose were wiritten to a great extent. Some of the prose works, which are considered as simple, medium and exalted style with the outlines of the eloquence books, appear to dominate the artistic elements. In this concept of art where poetry is seen as a sultan and prose is seen as a public, the writers produced tehir works with the tools they took from poetry. Thus, in prose,the use of various arts that enable poetry to be written in upper language, however, the difference between poetry an prose has also begun to close in terms of narration. In the survey, the artistic expressions of classical Turkish prose will be examined. The point taken in the examination is not only the identification of the aesthetic and poetic element found in the works. While the artistic aspect of prose revealed, it will be tried to examine how these are transferred to the work, its role in the appreciation of the work and its contribution to the work.
