Abstract

In this research, the reliability and validity study of the 6-9 year old Turkish children was carried out in Developmental Visual Perception Test-3. The data were collected by applying Developmental Visual Perception Test-3 to 394 students from 1, 2, 3 and 4 grade levels in Samsun, Çarşamba, Salıpazarı and Terme districts for 6 months. Statistical studies were based on the reliability and validity of the test. Test-retest reliability, Cronbach's alpha reliability, and item analysis were performed between scores acquired from scale. The relationship between all scale scores was significant at .01 level. This result shows that GGAT-3 gives consistent results between measurements. The Cronbach Alpha was calculated and the total visual perception score was calculated to be .995. In the discrimination calculations, the difference between the upper and lower 27% slices was investigated by the unrelated group t-test and the results were found to be significant at the .001 level. As a result, Developmental Test of Visual Perception-3, in Turkey is a reliable and valid scale for 6-9 years old children.
