Mentality analysis is carried out in two sections: in the first section, a general portrait of the period, era or any specific period of time is presented; in the second section, by deep investigation of main resources, it is aimed to determine the factors that help to form and specify this mentality. Another important point to focus on in mentality analysis is religion. Whether the religion is effective in determining lifestyles of time and shaping people’s minds and/or if yes, how effectively it acts are the main starting points for the investigation. In the present paper, the mentality analysis of Mehmet Akif’s poem “Leylâ” will be presented. In the current investigation, first the poem will be examined in terms of its structure, and then a mentality analysis will be carried out on the whole poem.},author={Ahmet USLU},year={2020},journal={The Journal of Social Sciences}}
