Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı Orhan Pamuk’un Benim Adım Kırmızı adlı romanındaki doğu sanatına ait öğeleri tespit etmek, seçilen romanı incelemek ve yazarın bu sanatsal öğelere bakış açısını göstermektir. Çalışmamızın birinci bölümünde “sanat” kavramına ilişkin çeşitli tanımlar derlenerek sanatın sahip olduğu nitelikler belirlenmiştir. “Şark kültürü” ve “Doğu İmgesi” gibi iki alt başlık altında bu öğeler ayrıntılı bir şekilde açıklanmıştır. Bu bölümde sanatla ilgili kuramsal tartışmalara girilmemiş, literatürdeki mevcut bilgiler derlenmiştir. Çalışmamızın ikinci bölümünde Orhan pamuk’un yaşamı, yazarlığı ve verdiği eserler “ Orhan Pamuk ve Roman Anlayışı” ile “ Orhan Pamuk ve Yazarlık Macerası” adlı iki alt bölümde incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde yazarın romana bakış açısı, eserlerini nasıl oluşturduğu aktarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmamızın temel ilgi alanını belirleyen bölüm olan üçüncü bölümde ise, yazarın çalışmamıza konu olan romanındaki sanatsal öğeler değişik açılardan incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızın sonuç bölümünde ise, incelenen roman ışığında elde edilen veriler genel bir bakış açısıyla sıralanmıştır.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify items which belong to the Oriental culture of Orhan Pamuk's novels, is to examine selected novels and is to show the author's point of view about the cultural items. In the first part of our work, the various definitions of "culture" concept has been compiled and qualities that culture owns, has been determined. "Oriental culture" and "The Image of the East", two sub-items under this heading are described in detail. In this section, theoretical discussions about culture has not been studied in detail, the available information in literature has been compiled. In the second part of our study, Orhan Pamuk's life, his authorship and his Works are examined by the two sub-sections; "Orhan Pamuk and Novel approach" and " Orhan Pamuk and His Authorship Adventure". In this chapter the author’s novel perspective and how he creates his works are intended to be expressed. In the third section, determining the portion of the main concerns of our study, the author's work is the subject of our artistic elements in the novel have been studied from different perspectives. In the conclusion part of our study, examined in the light of novel data obtained are listed as a general point of view.
