Abstract

Abstract

As from the first day of existence, it can be said that intellectual and physical variables direct interaction of human beings in various interactions within an environment. These intellectual variables are shaped by the basic ideologies of the period in which they are found. The thoughts that determine the relation of the people with the environment in the modern period are parallel to the basic ideas of the modernism movement. It can be stated that this situation is the same in the postmodern period. At this point, the aim of this study is to examine the human-environment relations of the modern and postmodern era and to demonstrate what the differences of the postmodern era are in these relations. Human-environment relations of this study in the modern era are examined in terms of anthropocentric approaches and these relations in the postmodern era are examined in terms of risk society and new environment paradigm.
