Abstract
Toplumda, ister makro ölçekte isterse mikro ölçekte olsun, farklı seviyelerde “biz” duygularımız vardır. Kitle olmak bu biz-oluş halinin ötesindedir. Kitleler, toplumsal bir örüntü olmaktansa adeta yığın olarak hareket ederler. “Biz” fenomenini var eden kontrol, etik muhasebe, vicdan, vb. ölçekler kitlede kaybolur. Geriye, kontrolsüzce akmaya, savrulmaya, önüne çıkanı ezip geçmeye eğilimli bir akış kalır. Biz duygusunu aşan, hatta yıkan bu “kitle mantığı” ya da duygusal işleyiş mekanizmaları nelerdir? Hem iletişim sosyolojisi hem de psikoloji literatürüne başvurarak bu konuyu kuramsal eksende makalemizde tartışmaktayız. Bu literatür bize kitlelerin nasıl işlediği, nasıl hareket ettiği, ne türden bir doğaları bulunduğu konusunda önemli kavramlar sunmaktadır. Çağdaş toplumda zorlayıcı olan kitle olgusunu anlama, kavrama noktasında söz konusu literatürün büyük bir faydasını görebiliriz. Eleştirel bir bakış doğru kavramsal çerçeve ile buluşursa kitlelerin nasıl oluştuğunu, nasıl hareket ettiğini ve neler yapabileceğini daha doğru anlayabiliriz. Yapılacak olan analiz, özellikle iletişim kavramı ve kitle iletişim teorileri üzerinden gelişecektir.

Abstract
We have “we” feelings in different levels both on macro and micro scales. Being a mass is beyond this we-being situation. Masses are moving as if a huge bulk rather than a social organization. Some scales which make “we” phenomenon possible such as control, ethical accounting, conscience, Etc. disappear in mass. A stream that has the tendency to flow without control, to be slung, to walk over anyone whoever appear in front of it. What are the emotional process mechanisms or “mass logic” which surpass the feeling of we, even destroy it? We discuss this topic in theoretical axis referring to both sociology of communication and psychology literature. This literature provides us important concepts related to how masses are operating, how they are moving and how kind of nature they have. The literature is very beneficial to understand and comprehend the challenging phenomenon of mass in contemporary societies. We can understand better that how masses are emerging, how operating and what they can do if we are able to bring together a critical perspective and correct conceptual frames. The analysis here will proceed through the theories of communication and related notions.
