Abstract
Kültür; genel bir ifadeyle, tarihsel perspektif bakış açısıyla, bir toplumun gelişim süreci içinde kendini gösteren, maddi ve manevi değerlerini kapsayan son derece önemli bir sistemler bütünüdür. Kültürün en önemli aktarıcısı olan insanoğlu, geçmişten aldığı bütün kazanımlarını kendisinden sonraki nesillere iletmekle sorumlu bir taşıyıcı konumdadır. Sanat ise bu bütünlük içerisinde o toplumun gelişmişlik düzeyini estetik bir anlayışıyla ifade etmektedir. Kültürün oluşumu ve devamlılığı söz konusu olduğunda tüm sanat dalları gibi müziğin önemi hiç kuşkusuz çok mühimdir. Günümüz popüler kültürü içerisinde, geleneklere bağlı müziğin korunması, yaşatılması ve gelecek kuşaklara aktarılmasında müzik bilim insanlarının ve sanatçılarının katkıları kadar, çeşitli formlarda ve makamlarda eserler veren bestekârların da önemi yadsınamaz. Bu makale Merzifonlu kânuni bestekâr, Türk müziğine ömrünü adamış bir musiki hocası olan Mahmut Oğul’u tanıtmak ve onun Türk sanat müziğine kazandırdığı güfte ve bestelerini konu edinmektedir. “Bir bestekâr olarak insanlarımıza doğru ve kolay anlaşılır sözlerden bestelenmiş, aydınlık, basitin içinde güzelliğe erişmiş şarkılar yapma gayreti içindeyim” cümlesiyle sanat anlayışını ifade eden Mahmut Oğul, 1980’li ve 1990’lı yılların en popüler Türk sanat müziği şarkılarına imza atmış ve başta Zeki Müren, Emel Sayın, Bülent Ersoy, Coşkun Sabah olmak üzere pek çok sanatçı tarafından eserleri seslendirilerek Türk halkının ilgisini, beğenisini kazanmış bir bestekârdır.

Generally culture ist most essential systems whole thatincludes material and spirutual values with a historical perspective look. Human is responsible to generate allexperiences to future generations as the most importanttransfer factor. Art states development levels of society withesthetic understanding in this whole. Significance of music is very important for cultureformation and continuıty like all art branches. Today in popular culture, on the protection, keeping alive and transferring of the music which depends on the traditions not only scientists and artists, but also the composers who work in the office and in various forms have great importance. This paper aims to introduce a composer called Mahmut Oğul, also a music teacher who was born in Merzifon devoted his life to Turkish music. The paper also deals with to introduce lyrics and compositions which Mahmut Oğul gained to Turkish Art music. Expressing his concept of art with this sentence "I am in the effort, as a composer to compose music with right and easy understanable words, also which has access to the beauty in the simplicity”, Mahmut Oğul composed the most popular Turkish Art music songs of the 1980’s and 1990s and particularly his songs came into life with many artists like Emel Sayın, Bülent Ersoy, Çoşkun Sabah. He is a great composer who gained the interest and appreciation of Turkish people.
