Abstract
"Hatıra" sözcüğü 'hatırda kalan şey' anlamında kullanılırken zamanla yazınsal bir tür olarak da karşımıza çıkar ve yeni bir anlam içerir. Anı türü yazarın başından geçen, tanık olduğu olayları anlattığı için gerçek, kişisel değerlendirmeler, yorumlar ve bütün bunların anlatılışı gibi çeşitli yönlerden de kurmacadır. Bu çalışmada Türk edebiyatının önemli yazarlarının ve topluma yön vermiş önemli isimlerin çalışmaları bu türün özelliklerini belirginleştirmek amacıya incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma sonunda bireyin neden anı türüne yöneldiği açıklanmaya çalışılmış; yayımlama ve yayım sonrasında hangi süreçlerin işlediği belirlenmiştir.

Abstract
"Memoir" originally means memory or reminiscence. But in the course of time, we encounter with the term as a name for a certain literary genre. Hence, it encompasses a new meaning.On the one hand, the Memoir is non-fiction, since it tells the events that are experienced or borne witness to by the author. On the other hand, it can be called fiction regarding the personal estimates and interpretations that it involves, and the distinctive expression of this content In this study, we examined the works of the prominent authors of Turkish literature and exceptional individuals who have given direction to the society to make the properties of the genre explicit. As a result, we have tried to explicate why people tended towards the genre of Memoir and determined which processes take place during and after the publication.
