Abstract
Sanat ve bilimin pek çok durumda birbirini desteklemesi ve eğitimde görselleştirmenin katkısının giderek artması; bazı bilimsel konuların öğretiminde sanatın kullanılabilirliği fırsatı sunmaktadır. “Çakıl Sanatı”, son yıllarda çok dikkat çeken sanat dalı olup, pratik kurgu ve tasarımlarla, kolayca üç boyutlu görünümler elde edilebilmektedir. Bu sanatın doğal ve masrafsız temel malzemesini meydana getiren çakıl, laboratuarı doğanın kendisi olan Coğrafya biliminin de bir unsurudur. Bu çalışma, lisans düzeyindeki Coğrafya Bölümü öğrencilerinin, enerjiye sahip bir materyal olan çakılların Coğrafya öğretimine entegrasyonu hakkındaki düşüncelerine yöneliktir. Araştırma betimsel bir durum saptaması niteliğinde olup, nitel analiz yöntemleri temel alınmıştır. Hazırlanan görseller, “Kavram Tanıtan Temalar” ve “Mesaj İçeren Temalar” şeklinde iki başlık altında toplanmıştır. Öğrenciler çakıl sanatını Coğrafya eğitiminde son derece yararlı bulduklarını, önemli küresel sorunlara dikkat çekebildiklerini, disiplinlerarası ilişkilerin önemini fark ettiklerini, çakıl kullandıkları için görselin maliyetinin çok düşük olduğunu ve Coğrafya’nın günlük hayattaki önemini fark ettiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Bilim ve sanatı bütünleştiren öğrenci etkinlikleri, öğrenme ortamlarını zenginleştirerek öğrencilerin coğrafi perspektiflerini ifade etme çeşitliliği sağlayabilecektir.

Abstract
The fact that art and science support each other in many cases and the increasing contribution of visualization in education; offers the opportunity to use art in teaching of some scientific subjects. “Pebble Art” is an art branch which has attracted much attention in recent years. With practical fiction and designs, three-dimensional views can easily be obtained via pebble art. Gravel, which is the natural and costless base material of this art, is also an element of Geography that the laboratory is itself of nature. This study is aimed at Geography students’ thinking about the integration of gravels, which is a material with energy, into geography teaching. The research is descriptive and is based on qualitative analysis methods. The prepared images are gathered under two headings as “Themes Introducing Concept” and “Themes Containing Message”. The students pointed out that they found the gravel art extremely useful in Geography education, they drew attention to important global issues, they realized the importance of interdisciplinary relations, the cost of visuals was very low because they used free of charge gravels, and they realized the significance of Geography on daily life by preparing an image whose material was nature. Student activities integrating science and art can provide a variety of ways to express the geographical perspectives of the students by enriching learning environments.
