ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN BAŞARILARI ÜZERİNE ETKİ EDEN UNSURLARIN ARAŞTIRILMASI: HARRAN ÜNİVERSİTESİ MÜHENDİSLİK FAKÜLTESİ’NDE BİR UYGULAMA

Abstract
Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin akademik başarıları üzerine etki eden faktörlerin araştırılması ve bu faktörlerin analizinin yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırma, 70’i kız, 30’u erkek olmak üzere toplam 100 üniversite öğrencisi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Katılımcılar başarılarını etki edebilecek 5-li Likert tipi 11 maddeyi değerlendirmiş uygulama yaparak öğrenmenin başarı açısından en çok önemi görülürken, ders kitaplarından öğrenmenin öğrenciler tarafından daha az tercih edildiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu iki unsuru değerlendirmede öğrencilerin cinsiyet, yaş, bölüm, aylık gelir, anne eğitimi, baba eğitimi, lise derecesi, bölüm seçme isteği, bulunulan sınıf gibi demografik özelliklerin 0,05 anlamlılık düzeyinde etkisi saptanamamıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçları mühendislik eğitiminde başarının artırılması için kullanılabilir.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to research the factors affecting the academic achievements and to analyze these factors. This research is conducted on a total number of 100 students 30 of which were males and 70 of them were females. In this study 11 5-Likert scale items related to success of engineering education were evaluated by participants and findings indicate that application is the best way to learn while students agree with learning from text books the least. Students’ demographic characteristics such as gender, age, department, monthly income, mother education, father education, high school graduation degree, department selection factor, class were not found to be significant at 0,05 levels on the evaluations of these two items. The results of this study can be used to improve the success level of engineering education.
