Abstract
Çevre sorunları, küreselleşmenin bir sonucu olarak çağımızın en önemli sorunlarından biri haline gelmiştir. Ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde tartışılan bu sorunlar, tüm insanlığı ilgilendiren çözümler beklemektedir. Farklı bilim dallarının konuya bakışı, konuya disiplinler arası olma niteliği kazandırmıştır. Niteliksel yöntemle yürütülen bu betimsel çalışmanın amacı, küresel ve yerel bazdaki çevre sorunlarından yola çıkarak Türkiye’deki çevre eğitimin durumunu genel hatlarıyla ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda öncelikle çevre tanımı ve ulusal ve küresel çevre sorunları ile ilgili bilgi aktarımı yapılacaktır. Daha sonra çevre ahlakından İslamiyet’in çevreye bakışına geçilecektir. Metnin ana konusu olan çevre eğitimi, eğitim programları ve akademik çalışmalar bağlamında değerlendirilerek bir takım çözüm önerileri sunulacaktır.

Abstract
Environmental problems have become one of the most crucial issues of our age as a result of globalization. This subject, being discussed by national and international fields, is waiting for solutions concerning the whole humanity. The studies of different disciplines have made the issue acquired an interdisciplinary characteristic. The aim of this qualitative and descriptive study is to reveal the status of the environmental education in Turkey by dwelling on national and global environmental problems. Within this context, some general information about the definitions of the environment and national and international environmental problems will be given. Then, a passage from environmental ethics to Islamic point of view will be made. Environmental education, as the main focus point of this paper, will be evaluated within the framework of educational programs and academic studies and some suggestions will be given.
