Abstract
Türkçe öğretiminin temelini oluşturan metinler, ulusal ve evrensel değerlerin edinilmesi adına önemli kaynaklardandır. Sevgi ve merhamet duyguları bu değerlerin temelini oluşturmaktadır. Özellikle son yıllarda hayvana yönelik şiddet haberlerindeki ve istatistiklerindeki artış dikkate alındığında hayvan sevgisi edinilmesine yönelik metinler, öğrencilerin bu konuyu içselleştirmesine yardımcı olacaktır. Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki hayvan sevgisi konusuna yer veren metinlerin incelenmesi, bu çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Doküman analizi yöntemi ile yapılan çalışmada 2017-2018 ve 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılları için hazırlanan 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf ders kitaplarından her sınıf düzeyinde bir Türkçe kitabı incelenmiş, incelenen kitaplarda yer alan toplam 292 metinden hayvan sevgisinin yer aldığı metin sayısı 7’dir. 2017-2018 yılında 5. ve 6. sınıf düzeyinde ikişer, 7. sınıf düzeyinde bir metin bulunmakta, 8. sınıf düzeyinde ise hayvan sevgisi konusunda metin bulunmamaktadır. 2018-2019 yılında 5 ve 6. sınıf düzeyinde birer metin bulunurken 7 ve 8. sınıf düzeyinde ise hayvan sevgisi üzerine yazılan metin bulunmamaktadır. Metin sayısında azalma gözlenmiştir. Hayvan sevgisi konusunun sadece 5 ve 6. sınıf düzeyinde kalmaması, metinlerin daha dikkatli hazırlanması ve metinlerin sayısının arttırılması gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract
Texts form the basis of teaching Turkish. They are important resources for learning national and universal values. Feelings of love and compassion are the most important values. Especially in recent years, there has been an increase in the news and statistics of violence against animals. With this in mind, texts on animal love will help students to care about this issue. The aim of this study is to examine the texts about love of animals in Turkish textbooks. Document analysis method is used. A textbook from each of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade textbooks published in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years has been examined. Of the 292 texts in reviewed books, 7 of them are about the animal love. In 2017-2018, there are two texts in the 5th and 6th grades, one text in the 7th grade, and no text about the love of animals in the 8th grade. In 2018-2019, there is a text on grades 5th and 6th and there is no text about love of animals in grades 7th and 8th The number of texts is fewer than the previous year. This issue should not remain at only 5th and 6th grade level. It was concluded that the texts should be prepared more carefully and the number of texts should be increased.
