Abstract
Edebiyat tarihi, bir milletin edebî eserlerini ve bu eserleri oluşturan sanatçıları tarihi süreç içerisinde inceleyen bilim dalıdır. Tarihimize/edebiyat tarihimize ilgi duyan araştırmacıların ilk başvuracağı kaynaklar şüphesiz tezkireler/edebiyat tarihleri olacaktır. Edebiyat tarihi çalışmaları Darülfünûn ve idâdilerin ders programlarına edebiyat tarihi dersinin konulması ile başlar. Bu çalışmalardan biri de Fâik Reşad’ın Târîh-i Edebiyyât-ı Osmâniyye adlı eseridir. Târîh-i Edebiyyât-ı Osmâniyye yazarları kullandığı kaynakları dipnot olarak belirtmemesine rağmen Faik Reşad dipnot kullanmış fakat dipnotlarda kelimeler ve şairlerle ilgili açıklamalarda bulunmuştur. Reşad, kullandığı kaynakları metin içerisinde belirtmiştir. O zamana kadar haberdar olunmayan tezkireleri gün yüzüne çıkarmış, bu eserlerin tanınmasını sağlamıştır. Yazarın eserde kullandığı kaynakların tespiti bu alanla ilgili çalışma yapanlara kolaylık sağlayacaktır.

Abstract
The history of literature is a branch of science that examines the literary works of a nation and the artists that make up these works in the historical process. Researchers who are interested in our history/history of literature will certainly consult the collection of biographies/history of literature as the first resources. Studies on the history of literature start with the inclusion of the history of literature course in the curriculum by Darülfünûn and idâdîn. One of these works is Fâik Reşad's work named as Târîh-i Edebiyyât-ı Osmâniyye. Although the Târîh-i Edebiyyât-ı Osmâniyye writers did not specify the sources they used as footnotes, Faik Reşad used footnotes but he made explanations about words and poets in the footnotes. Reşad stated the sources he used in the text. He uncovered the collection of biographies that were not known until then and ensured the recognition of these works. Identifying the sources used by the author in the work will make it easier for those who work in this field.
