Abstract
En geniş anlamda insanoğlu tarafından kendi cinsine, karşı cinse, doğaya ve diğer canlılara tahakküm amacı ile uyguladığı her tür baskıcı, yıkıcı ve zarar verici davranış şiddet olarak tanımlanabilir. Fakat tüm dünyada en fazla şiddet kadına yönelik gerçekleşmektedir. Kadına yönelik şiddet çağımızda geleneksel ve hatta modern birçok toplumda aşılamayan tabulardan ve sorunlardan biridir. Kadına yönelik şiddet sonucunda ekonomik, sosyal ve psikolojik alanlarda geriye dönülmez kayıplar yaşanmaktadır. Kadına yönelik şiddet oldukça eski çağlara dayanan fakat akademik anlamda bir olgu olarak araştırılmaya 20. Yüzyılın ortalarına doğru başlanan bir meseledir. Kadına yönelik şiddet başta alt gelir ve eğitim grupları olmak üzere tüm sosyal ve ekonomik sınıfları etkilemektedir. Kadına yönelik şiddet olgusuna uzun yıllar aile mahremiyeti alanı içinde görüldüğü için şiddet sorunu toplumsal bir olgu olarak tam anlamı ile bilimsel açılardan ele alınmamış ve araştırılmamıştır. Bu nedenle kadına yönelik şiddet günümüzde kronikleşmiş ve çözülmesi zor bir hal almıştır. Şiddete yol açan ekonomik, kültürel, toplumsal ve psikolojik birçok faktör vardır. Kadına yönelik şiddet oldukça karmaşık olduğu kadar acil çözüme de ihtiyaç duyulan bir olgudur. Şiddete yol açan etkenlerin arasında en temel faktör ataerkil kültür ile birbirini destekleyen ve inşa eden hegemonik erkekliktir. Bu noktada şekillenen toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri şiddeti normal bir olgu olarak inşa etmekte ve bazı durumlarda bu olguya yönelik kanunların oluşturulmasını da engelleyebilmektedir. Sosyolojik bir olgu olarak şiddetin nedenlerini anlayabilmek ve analiz edebilmek için tüm psiko-sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik boyutları ile ele alınması gerekmektedir. Bu kadar çok etkenin bir arada olması neticesinde konunun ele alınması da oldukça zor olacaktır. Bu çalışmada daha çok sosyal ve kültürel boyutları ile şiddet olgusu ele alınacaktır. Kadına yönelik şiddetin sonlanmasında birçok etkenin bir arada olması gerekmektedir. Bunlardan en önemlisi küçük yaşlardan itibaren bireylerin bu konuda bilinçlendirilmesi ve bu konuda eğitimlerin verilmesidir. Erken yaşlarda verilen eğitim bireylerin cinsiyet rollerini olumlu yönde şekillendirecek ve şiddet davranışının görülmesini çok aza indirebilecektir.

Abstract
In the broadest sense, all kinds of oppressive, destructive and damaging behaviors that are applied by human beings with the aim of dominating their own kind, opposite sex, nature and other living things can be defined as violence. But all over the world, the most violence is against women. Violence against women is one of the taboos and problems that cannot be overcome in many traditional and even modern societies in our age. As a result of violence against women, irreversible losses are experienced in economic, social and psychological areas. Violence against women is an issue that dates back to ancient times but began to be explored as an academic phenomenon towards the middle of the 20th century. Violence against women affects all social and economic classes, especially lower income and education groups. Since the phenomenon of violence against women has been seen in the field of family privacy for many years, the problem of violence as a social phenomenon has not been fully addressed and investigated in scientific terms. For this reason, violence against women has become chronic and difficult to be resolved today. There are many economic, cultural, social and psychological factors that lead to violence. Violence against women is a very complex phenomenon that needs an urgent solution. Among the factors that lead to violence, the most fundamental factor is patriarchal culture and hegemonic masculinity that supports and builds each other. Gender roles that are shaped at this point construct violence as a normal phenomenon and in some cases may prevent the establishment of laws regarding this phenomenon. As a sociological phenomenon, it must be handled with all its psycho-social, cultural and economic dimensions in order to understand and analyze the causes of violence. It will be very difficult to address the issue as a result of the combination of so many factors. In this study, the social and cultural dimensions and the phenomenon of violence is discussed. Many factors must coexist in ending violence against women. The most important of these is to raise the awareness of individuals on this issue and to provide training on this subject from an early age. Education given at an early age will positively shape the gender roles of individuals and may reduce the occurrence of violent behavior to a very low level.
