Abstract
İnsanlığın bireysel ve toplumsal boyutta karşı karşıya kaldığı bir sorun olarak şiddet, kişinin bedensel ve ruhsal bütünlüğünü olumsuz şekilde etkileyen eylemlerin bütünüdür. Şiddet, zamana, toplumsal yapıya göre değişen bir olgu olmasına rağmen her toplumda farklı kesimler bir şekilde şiddete maruz kalmaktadır. Tüm toplumlarda olduğu gibi ülkemizde de şiddete maruz kalan kesimlerden biri de kadınlardır. Kadına yönelik şiddet, kadınların fiziksel, psikolojik ve cinsel zarar görmesine yol açan ve kadının ve çevresindekilerin yaşamını tehdit eden ve toplumsal hayat üzerinde yıkıcı etkileri olan toplumsal bir problemdir. Kadına şiddetin sebepleri; ataerkil düzen, geleneksel kalıplar, bireysel ve toplumsal faktörlerdir. Bu araştırmada üniversitede okuyan erkek öğrencilerin kadına yönelik şiddete ilişkin tutum ve düşünceleri belirlenmiştir. Erkek öğrencilerin kadına yönelik şiddetle ilgili algılarını incelemek amacıyla 2016 yılında Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Üniversitesi’nde okuyan 200 erkek öğrenci ile anket çalışması yapılmıştır ve öğrencilerin yaş, aylık gelir, anne-baba mesleği vb. demografik nitelikleri ile kadına yönelik şiddet tutumları ilişkisi araştırılmıştır.

Abstract
Violence, as a problem that humanity faces in the individual and social dimensions, is the whole of the actions that negatively affect the physical and mental integrity of the person. Although violence is a phenomenon that changes according to time and social structure, different segments of society are exposed to violence in some way. As in all societies, one of the groups exposed to violence in our country is women. Violence against women is a social problem that causes physical, psychological and sexual harm to women, threatens the life of women and those around them, and has devastating effects on social life. Causes of violence against women; patriarchy, traditional patterns, individual and social factors. In this study, the attitudes and thoughts of male university students about violence against women were determined. In order to examine male students' perceptions of violence against women, a survey was conducted with 200 male students studying at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University in 2016 and the students' age, monthly income, parental occupation, etc. The relationship between demographic characteristics and attitudes towards violence against women was investigated.
