Abstract
Osmanlı Devleti kuruluşundan itibaren fethedilen bölgelerdeki gayr-i müslim tebaaya karşı hoşgörülü davranmıştır. Tarihte Ermenilerin İstanbul’a nasıl yerleştiği konusunda kesin bilgiler yer almamaktadır. 384 yılında Ermenistan’ın Bizans ile İran arasında bölünmesinden sonra İstanbul’da bulunmaya başladıkları kabul edilmektedir. Pamukciyan’a göre 572’de İstanbul’da ilk Ermeni cemaati oluştu. Fatih Sultan Mehmed Bursa’da bulunan ermeni ruhani reisi Hovakim Yebisgobos’u İstanbul’a davet ederek, Samatya’da bulunan Rumlara ait Sulumanastır kilisesini de Ermenilere bağışladı. Sultan bu nakil ile Ermeni Patrikliğini de resmen kurmuş oldu. Böylece İstanbul Osmanlı Devleti içerisindeki bütün Ermenilerin rûhânî merkezi olmuştur. İstanbul’un fethedilmesiyle başlayan imar ve şehri yeniden canlandırma faaliyetleri ile gelen gayr-i müslimler İstanbul’un değişik noktalarına yerleştirildi. Bu makalede Anadolu’nun muhtelif yerlerinden getirtilen Ermenilerin İstanbul’da nerelere yerleştirildikleri ve nüfusları hakkında bilgilere yer verilecektir.

Abstract
Since its establishment, the Ottoman State has been tolerant towards non-Muslim subjects in the conquered regions. There is no definite information about how Armenians settled in Istanbul in history. It is accepted that they started to be found in Istanbul after the partition of Armenia between Byzantium and Iran in 384. According to Pamukciyan, the first Armenian community was formed in Istanbul in 572. Mehmed the Conqueror invited the Armenian spiritual chief Hovakim Yebisgobos in Bursa to Istanbul and donated the Greek Sulumanastır church in Samatya to the Armenians. With this transfer, the Sultan officially established the Armenian Patriarchate. Thus, Istanbul became the spiritual center of all Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. The non-Muslims who came with the reconstruction and revitalization activities that started with the conquest of Istanbul were settled in different parts of Istanbul. In this article, information about where the Armenians brought from various parts of Anatolia were settled in Istanbul and their population will be given.
