Abstract
İz bırakma yetisini keşfeden birey tarih boyunca, görünene, düşünülene, hissedilene, olaylara, olasılıklara ve bunların gerçeklikle ilişkilerine dair sanatsal temsiller gerçekleştirmiştir. Özü itibariyle gerçeklikle harmanlanmış olan sanat, sanat tarihinin farklı dönüm noktalarında gerçeklikle girdiği bu ilişkiyi sorunsallaştırmıştır. Bu sorunsallaştırma, içinde yaşanılan zamanın etkisi, toplum durumu, sanatçının özgün bakış açısı ve gerçekliğin kendine özgü doğası ile yakından ilişkilidir. Dolayısıyla sanatçı da gerçeklikle girdiği ilişkide, içinde yaşadığı zamanın ruhuyla, sanat anlayışıyla, kendi hayat tecrübeleriyle ve çevresinde bu sorunsalı ele alan diğer meslekdaşlarıyla etkilenme durumundadır. Tam olarak gerçekliğin doğasının sorgulandığı, hakikatin kendisiyle, temsiliyle ve rüyalarla olan ilişkisinin irdelendiği Gerçeküstücülük sanat anlayışı, birçok sanatçı tarafından benimsenmiştir. Bu anlayışın öne çıkan temsilcilerinden biri olan Rene Magritte, ürettiği sıradışı eserleri aracılığıyla süregelen gerçeklik algısının ayarlarıyla oynamış ve kendinden sonrasına ilham kaynağı olmuştur. Bu doğrultuda araştırma kapsamında gerçek, gerçeklik, algı, yanılsama gibi kavramlar ele alınacak, gerçeküstücülük sanat anlayışı üzerinde durulacak, Rene Magritte’in kim olduğuna değinilecek ve sanatının adı geçen kavramlarla ilişkisi ve temsil biçimleri, ele alınan örnek eserler doğrultusunda incelenecektir.

Abstract
The individual who discovered the ability to leave a trace has made artistic representations of what is seen, thought, felt, events, possibilities and their relationship with reality throughout history. Art, which is essentially blended with reality, has problematized this relationship with reality at different turning points in art history. This problematization is closely related to the effect of the time lived in, the social situation, the unique perspective of the artist and the unique nature of reality. Therefore, the artist is in a position to be influenced by the spirit of the time he/she lives in, his/her understanding of art, his/her own life experiences and other colleagues who deal with this problematic in his/her relationship with reality. Surrealism, in which the nature of reality is questioned and its relationship with reality itself, its representation and dreams are examined, has been adopted by many artists. Rene Magritte, one of the prominent representatives of this understanding, played with the settings of the ongoing perception of reality through his extraordinary works and became a source of inspiration for his future. In this direction, concepts such as truth, reality, perception and illusion will be discussed within the scope of the research, the understanding of surrealism will be emphasized, the identity of Rene Magritte will be mentioned, and the relationship of his art with the mentioned concepts and the forms of representation will be examined in line with the sample works discussed.
