Abstract
Çağımızın çözüm bekleyen en önemli konuları arasında yer alan çevre sorunları 20. yüzyılın sonlarına doğru küresel boyutlara ulaşmıştır. 21. yüzyılla birlikte bütün insanlığı tehdit eder hale gelmiştir.
Hava kirliliği, su kirliliği, ozon tabakasının tahribatı, yağmur ormanların yok olması, doğal afetlerin artması, küresel ısınma ve iklim değişikliği gibi küreselleşen çevre sorunları ulusal ve uluslararası alanda çözümleri gerekli kılmış, bu anlamda çevre yönetimi son derece önemli hale gelmiştir. Çevre sorunlarının birçoğunun yerel kaynaklı olması ve bu sorunların evrensel boyutlara dönüşmeden kaynağında önlenmesi anlayışı yerel yönetimlerin önemini ve bu alandaki sorumluluğunu öne çıkarmaktadır. Bu açıdan Türkiye’de çevre yönetimi yapılanmasında yerel yönetim kuruluşlarına mevzuatta önemli görev, yetki ve sorumluluklar verilmiştir.
Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de çevre yönetimi yapılanması yerel yönetim kuruluşları özelinde incelenerek, mevzuat bağlamında yerel yönetim kuruluşlarının çevre ile ilgili görev, yetki ve sorumlulukları ele alınmıştır.

Abstract
The environmental problems waiting for a solution are seen within the most important issues of our age and they reached a global scale at the end of 20th Century. By coming of 21st Century, they have become a menace to the whole humanity.
The global environmental problems such as, air pollution, water pollution, destruction of the ozone layer, extinction of rain forests, the rise of the natural disasters, global warming, climate change make national and international solutions obligatory and then environmental management has become so important. The idea of most of environmental problems have a local source and they can be preventable before they become universal prioritise the importance and responsibility of the local managements. In this respect, in Türkiye, in the structure of environmental management, the local administration institutions have important tasks, authorities and reponsibilites.
In this paper, the environmental management structure in Türkiye is handled particularly through local managements and put their task, authority and responsibility in the context of legislation.
