Abstract
Bu çalışma, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kahramanmaraş ili Afşin ilçe sınırları içerisinde bulunan random (rastgele) yöntemiyle belirlenen resmi ilkokullarda görev yapan sınıf ve branş öğretmenlerinin ilkokul öğrencilerinde kitap okuma alışkanlığının geliştirilmesine (artırılmasına) yönelik düşüncelerini incelemektedir. Bu araştırmanın örneklemini, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kahramanmaraş ili Afşin ilçesindeki ilkokullarda görev yapan 82 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda elde edilen bulgular şöyle özetlenebilir: Okulların genelinde kütüphane bulunmaktadır ancak öğrencilerin ihtiyaçlarına cevap verebilecek nitelikte değildir. Ailenin gelir ve eğitim düzeyi arttıkça öğrencilerin kitap okuma alışkanlık düzeyleri de artmaktadır. Kitap okuma alışkanlık düzeyleri yüksek olan öğretmenler öğrencilerin de kitap okuma alışkanlık düzeylerini de olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Öğretmenlerin çoğu öğrencilerin kitap okuma alışkanlığını geliştirmek için sınıflarında kitap okuma saatleri yapmanın faydalı olacağını belirtmektedir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin çoğu, öğrencilerin kitap okuma alışkanlığı kazanmasında ailenin öğretmenden daha etkili olduğunu ifade etmektedir.

Abstract
This study examines the opinions of class and branch teachers working in the official primary schools determined by random method in Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş province in the 2021-2022 academic year, on the development (increasing) the habit of reading books in primary school students. The sample of this research consisted of 82 teachers working in primary schools in Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In order to collect data in the research, interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview form. The findings obtained as a result of the research can be summarized as follows: There is a library throughout the schools, but it is not qualified to meet the needs of the students. As the income and education level of the family increase, the level of reading habits of the students also increases. Teachers with high levels of reading habits also positively affect students' levels of reading habits. Most of the teachers state that it would be beneficial to have reading hours in their classrooms in order to improve students' reading habits. In addition, most of the teachers state that the family is more effective than the teacher in gaining the habit of reading books.
