Abstract
Max Reger’in müzik tarihine, müzik dünyasına ve viyola repertuvarına olan katkıları çok büyüktür. Reger, her ne kadar Romantik Dönem bestecisi olarak görülse de eserlerinde döneminin çok ötesinde bir stil oluşturmaktadır. Onun müziği, Romantik Dönem ile Çağdaş Dönem arasında bir köprü yaratmaktadır. Çağdaşı olan bestecilerin örnek aldığı bir stile, özveriye ve hakimiyete sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Kendine has olan disiplini, çalışmalarına karşı olan kuralcılığı Reger’ in yaşadığı dönemde çağdaşlarından farklı olarak dikkat çekmesine neden olmaktadır. Müzik tarihine ve viyola repertuvarına katkıları bugün bile kabul görmektedir. Yazmış olduğu üç viyola süiti, viyola için yazılmış nadir süitlerdendir. Bu araştırmada, öncelikle Romantik Dönem’e ve Reger’in içinde bulunduğu Post-Romantik Dönem’e (Romantik Dönem’in Son Yılları)değinilmiş ve Max Reger’in hayatı, çalışmaları ve müzik stili incelenmiştir.

Abstract
Max Reger's contributions to the history of music, the world of music and the viola repertoire are enormous. Although Reger is seen as a Romantic composer, he creates a style far beyond his period in his works. His music creates a bridge between the Romantic Period and the Contemporary Period. It is seen that he has a style, devotion and dominance that his contemporary composers take as an exemplary. His discipline, which is unique to him, and his rule against his works cause Reger to draw attention differently from his contemporaries. His contributions to the history of music and the viola repertoire are recognized even today. The three viola suites he wrote are among the rare suites written for the viola. In this research, firstly the Romantic Period and the Post-Romantic Period (last years of the Romantic Period) in which Reger was related were mentioned and Max Reger's life, works and musical style were examined.
