Abstract
1946 yılında kurulan Demokrat Parti (DP), Türk siyasi hayatı açısından önemli bir yere sahiptir. 1950 seçimlerinde tek başına iktidar olan ve Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi’nin tek parti dönemini sona erdiren DP dönemi hem iç siyaset hem de dış siyaset açısından önemli olayların yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. 2. Dünya Savaşı sonrası oluşan kutuplaşmalarda ülkemizin daha çok Amerika Birleşik Devletleri (ABD) ve Batı eksenli politikalar uygulamasına yöneltmiştir. DP’nin iktidar olduğu 1950-1960 yılları arasında hem iç hem de dış siyaset alanında önemli gelişmeler yaşanmıştır. Bu süreçte Cumhuriyet’in ilk yıllarında uygulanan politikalardan uzaklaşılmış, daha çok dış gelişmelere bağlı siyaset izlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada DP’nin iktidara gelişi ve iktidarda olduğu 1950-1960 yılları arasında ülkemizi etkileyen önemli iç ve dış siyasi olaylar incelenmiştir.

Abstract
Founded in 1946, the Democrat Party (DP) has an important place in Turkish political life. The DP period, which came to power alone in the 1950 elections and ended the single-party period of the Republican People's Party, caused important events in terms of both domestic and foreign policy. The polarizations that occurred after the Second World War led our country to implement policies based on the United States (USA) and the West. Between the years 1950-1960, when the DP was in power, there were important developments in both domestic and foreign politics. In this process, the policies implemented in the first years of the Republic were moved away from, and the politics related to foreign developments were followed. In this study, important domestic and foreign political events affecting our country between the DP's coming to power and the years 1950-1960 when it was in power were examined.
