Abstract
Fransızca kökenli olan chant kelimesi Türkiye’de kullanıldığında akıllara sadece operanın gelmesi algı yanılsamasına sebep olan bir durumdur ve bu durum kavram karmaşasına sebep olmaktadır. Şan eğitimi bazı ana unsurların yanında sese ve solunuma dayanıklılık kazandırmak, üzerinde çalışılacak olan eserin türüne has farklı söyleme tekniklerini içinde bulunduran, egzersizlerle birlikte sese sanatsal bir ifade kazandıran uzun bir eğitim sürecidir. Daha kaliteli, etkili ve sağlıklı bir ses üretmek ve sanatsal olarak en iyiye ulaşmak için şan sanatına yönelik eğitimin gerekli faktörlerinin bireylere kazandırılmasının bu alan için faydalı olacağını ifade etmek yerinde olacaktır. Şan ve ses eğitimi kavramlarının anlamlarını karşılayacak bir şekilde kullanılması dikkat edilmesi gereken önemli bir konudur. Türe özgü verilen eğitime göre şan kavramının daha sık kullanılmasının bireylerin üzerindeki kafa karışıklıklarını ortadan kaldıracağı tahmin edilmektedir.

Abstract
When the word chant, which is of French origin, is used in Turkey, the fact that only opera comes to mind is a situation that causes the illusion of perception and this situation causes conceptual confusion. Singing education is a long training process that includes some main elements, as well as gaining strength in voice and breathing, different singing techniques specific to the type of work to be studied, and giving an artistic expression to the voice with exercises. It would be appropriate to state that it would be beneficial for this field to provide individuals with the necessary factors of education for the art of singing in order to produce a better quality, effective and healthy voice and to achieve the best artistically. The use of the concepts of voice and voice training in a way that meets their meanings is an important issue to be considered. It is estimated that the more frequent use of the concept of singing compared to the type-specific education will eliminate the confusion on individuals.
