Abstract
Bu çalışma, Wordsworth'ün "Bir Bulut Gibi Tek Başına Gezindim" (Nergis) adlı eserindeki sembollerin anlamlarını keşfetmeye çalışmaktadır. Şiirin sembolik anlamını ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla Charles Sander'in Peirce'in üçlü süreci - Peirce'in üçlü modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin incelenmesinde nitel betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda şiirdeki doğa odaklı simgelerin çözümlenmesi amacıyla bu çalışmada göstergebilimsel yaklaşımdan yararlanılmıştır. Peirce'in üçlü modelini temel alan bu çalışma, şairin doğal yaşam deneyimlerini ve doğal yaşamın sanayileşmeye karşı olumlu yönlerini aktarmak için doğa odaklı semboller kullandığı sonucuna varmaktadır. . Ayrıca doğal güzellikler, evrenin mucizeleri sembolik anlam ve çağrışımlarla aktarılmaktadır. Daha önce de belirtildiği gibi, bu çalışma Peirce'in üçlü göstergebilimsel yaklaşımına dayanan nitel yoruma dayanmaktadır. Bu makale semboller ve bunların açık ve örtülü anlamlarını ele almaktadır. Anlamsal olarak şiirin ana konusu nergislerle ilgili değildir. Şiir, çağrışımsal olarak doğal görüşlere, doğa odaklı deneyimlere odaklanır. Nergis burcu çoğunlukla doğa manzaraları ve doğal yaşamla ilgili olumlu çağrışımlar oluşturur. Şiir, kırsalda seyahat eden bir gezgine dayanmaktadır. Şiirde bağlam ve mekân açısından kırsal kavramı önemli bir rol oynar. Çünkü şiirde olumlu bir ton yani olumlu çağrışımlar ve simgeler oluşturur. Şiirde benzetme, mecaz, kişileştirme gibi pek çok edebi araç kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada şiirdeki simgeler ve bunların açık ve örtülü anlamları üzerinde durulmaktadır. Daha önce de belirtildiği gibi şiirdeki simgelerin çözümlenmesinde Peirce'in göstergebilim modeli kullanılmaktadır. Ayrıca şiirin anlatıcısının ruh hali, hisleri ve duyguları Peirce'in üçlü modeli esas alınarak araştırılmıştır. Bu bakımdan çalışmada şiirin sembolik anlamı üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu çalışma, şairin anlam sahnesini “doğal” olarak kurgulamak için doğal yönelimli göstergeleri diğer bir ifadeyle sembolleri kullandığı sonucuna varmaktadır.

Abstract
This present study tries to explore meaning of symbols in Wordsworth’s “I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud” (Daffodils). In order to reveal the symbolic meaning of the poem, Charles Sander’s Peirce the process of triadic in other words Peirce’s triadic model is used in the study. Qualitative descriptive method is used in the study to explore the data. In this regard, semiotic approach is used in this paper in order to analyze nature oriented symbols in the poem. Based on Peirce’s triadic model, this study concludes that the poet uses nature oriended symbols in order to convey the natural life experiences and positive side of natural life versus industrialism. In addition, natural beauty, miracles of universe are conveyed by means of symbolic meanings and connotations. As implied earilier, the current study is based on qualitative interpretive based on Peirce’s triadic semiotic approach. This paper deals with symbols and their explicit and implicit meaning. Denotatively, the poem’s main subject is not about the daffodils. Connotatively, the poem focuses on natural views, nature oriented experiences. Mostly, the sign of the daffodils construct positive connotations related to natural views and natural life. The poem is based on a traveler while travelling in the countryside. The concept of countryside in terms of context and setting plays a significant role in the poem. Because it establishes positive tone in other words positive connotations and symbols in the poem. Many literary devices are used in the poem such as simile, metonymy, personification. This present study focuses on symbols and their explicit and implicit meaning in the poem. As mentioned before, Peirce’s semiotic model is used in order to analyze the symbols in the poem. In addition, the narrator of the poem’s state of mind and his feelings and emotions are explored based on Peirce’s triadic model. In this respect, the study focuses on symbolic meaning of the poem. This present study concludes that the poet uses natrure oriented signs in other words symbols in order to construct “natural”scene of meaning.
