Abstract
Yirminci yüzyılın önde gelen Özbek şairlerinden Abdülhamid Süleymanoğlu Çolpan, şiirlerinde bireysel lirizmin yanı sıra toplumcu duyarlığa da yer verir. Şiirlerinde halkı bilinçlendirme düşüncesi geniş yer tutar. Ancak bu tavrı sosyalist bir temelde olmayıp toplumcu bir duruş sergiler. Bununla birlikte Çolpan sanatını da salt fikir söylemine feda etmez. O, aynı zamanda sanatın incelikleriyle beraber halkı bilinçlendirmeyi hedeflemiş bir şairdir. Çolpan, yaşadığı sıkıntıların da etkisiyle sembolik öğeleri manzumelerine taşır. Oluşturduğu sembolik anlatımlar ve toplumcu duyarlıkla şiirlerinde melankolik hâl kendisini sıklıkla hissettirir. Bu bağlamda melankoli Çolpan'ın şiirlerinde hem bireysel hem de toplumsal kaynaklı olarak ortaya çıkar. Yaşadığı toplumun sıkıntılarını dile getirirken edebiyatın estetik yönünü ötelemeyen Çolpan, bireysel melankolisini anlattığı manzumelerinde varoluşsal kaygılarını da ortaya koyar. Ancak bu varoluşsal melankolinin temelinde de yine içinde bulunduğu toplumun sıkıntılarının yer aldığı hissedilir. Bu çalışmada da Özbek edebiyatının önde gelen şairlerinden Çolpan'ın şiirlerinde yer alan melankolik tavır incelenmiştir.

Abstract
Abdulhamid Sulaymanoğlu Çolpan, one of the prominent Uzbek poets of the twentieth century, incorporates both personal lyricism and a strong sense of social consciousness in his poetry. His works extensively reflect a desire to raise public awareness; however, this attitude is not grounded in socialist ideology but rather stems from a broader social perspective. Despite his commitment to enlightening the public, Çolpan does not sacrifice artistic refinement for ideological expression. He aims to combine aesthetic sophistication with a didactic mission. Influenced by the hardships he experienced, Çolpan frequently employs symbolic elements in his poems. Through his use of symbolic narration and socially conscious themes, a sense of melancholy often pervades his poetry. In this regard, melancholy in Çolpan’s poetry arises from both personal and societal sources. While articulating the struggles of his society, Çolpan maintains the aesthetic qualities of literature, and in his poems expressing personal melancholy, he also reveals his existential concerns. Yet even these existential themes are deeply intertwined with the societal challenges he witnesses. This study examines the melancholic tone present in the poetry of Çolpan, one of the leading figures in Uzbek literature.
