Abstract
Adalet Partisi, 1960 Darbesi’nin buhranında Demokrat Parti’nin halefi olarak siyasî hayatına başlamıştır. AP’nin DP’ye halef gösterilmesi, birtakım sorunlarla avantajları beraberinde getirmiştir. Darbe, DP’nin politikalarına karşı yapıldığından AP, bu yükü siyasî yaşamın tüm kulvarlarında yüklenmiştir. Ancak seçmen, AP’yi DP’nin devamı gördüğünden girilen ilk seçimde dahi halkın önemli kesiminden oy toplanmıştır. Darbeden Yassıada sürecine ve seçimlere giden yolda askerî idarenin yarattığı güçlükler ve partiler arası çekişmeler ekseninde AP’nin kuruluş süreci, ideolojisi ve DP’nin mirasını üstlenmesi, araştırmanın temelini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada DP’nin mirası yükünün partiye sağladığı avantajlarla neden olduğu dezavantajların ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, 1961 yılı özelinde AP’nin kuruluşunu, ideolojisini, girdiği ilk seçimleri ve DP’nin mirasçıları arasındaki konumunu incelemektedir. Çalışma, AP’nin kuruluşundan parti olarak girilen ilk seçimlere kadarki buhranlı süreci dinamikleriyle incelemektedir. Kuruluş süreci, gün gün basından takip edilmiştir. Askerî idare tarafından askerî ve sivil olarak oluşturulmuş meclis tutanaklarının tamamı incelenmiştir. Böylece partinin kuruluş sürecindeki bir detayın kaçırılmaması amaçlanarak araştırmada olaylar bütünlüğü sağlanmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
The Adalet Party (AP) began its political life as the successor to the Demokrat Party (DP) amidst the turmoil of the 1960 Coup. This positioning brought both advantages and problems. Since the coup was directed against the DP's policies, the AP bore the burden of this in all aspects of political life. However, because voters viewed the AP as a continuation of the DP, it garnered significant support from a large segment of the population even in its first election. This research focuses on the AP's founding process, its ideology, and its assumption of the DP's legacy, within the context of the difficulties created by the military administration and inter-party rivalries on the road from the coup to the Yassıada trials and elections. The aim of the study is to reveal the advantages and disadvantages that this burden of the DP's legacy provided to the party. The study specifically examines the AP's founding, ideology, its first elections, and its position among the DP's successors, focusing on the year 1961. This study examines the tumultuous period of the AP founding, from its establishment to its first elections as a party, analyzing its dynamics. The founding process was followed day by day through the press. All parliamentary records, both military and civilian, compiled by the military administration, were examined. Thus, the aim was to ensure a complete account of events in the research, so that no detail of the party's founding process was missed.
