Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the studies based on the relationship between perceived overqualification and job satisfaction in national and international literature using meta-analysis method. The study was conducted 23 studies, which number of samples required for meta-analysis and include the Pearson correlation coefficient (r) were included in the study. In order to calculate the effect size for the data obtained from 23 studies (n = 6953), Fisher z value, publication bias, heterogeneity and significance tests results were tested with Jamovi statistical package program and MAJOR - Meta Analysis add-in. A random effect model was used in order to determine the effect direction and degree of the studies discussed in the study. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the relationship between perceived overqualification and job satisfaction was significant (p<0.01), and the effect size of the relationship was found -0.281, low and negative.
