Abstract
Music can be defined as the blending of tone that communicates emotions present in human life, occasionally leading to aesthetic experiences, as well as disseminating cultural knowledge. Music has existed since ancient times, manifesting in various forms throughout human history; it has served purposes as disparate as fear, resistance, self-expression, and cultural heritage, continuing to evolve even today. The association between music and memory is significant across numerous cultures as it is instrumental in conveying historical events, social values, and emotions. Musical structures, rhythms, and lyrics possess mnemonic properties that aid people's recollection abilities. These mnemonic features are explicit characteristics that reinforce and ease information retention processes. Music encompasses several of these characteristics and is utilised efficiently to assist with learning and recall. This study aims to present the impact of music on memory through fundamental theories and findings, as well as recommendations on utilizing the mnemonic qualities of music. Furthermore, it explores the possible advantages and usage of music concerning memory issues and techniques for improving memory.
