Abstract
Anadolu Masalları (Gerçekleşen Rüya) adlı eserde yer alan “Padişah ve Kızı” masalında yer alan motifler nitel çalışma yöntemiyle bulunmaya çalışılmıştır. Masalda yer alan motifler; Türk halk edebiyatı, mitolojik, dinî ve halkbilimsel motif çözümleme yöntemleri çerçevesinde sınıflandırılmıştır. Yasak, sınanma, kurt, yazgı ve ölüm gibi temel motiflerin masalın olay örgüsü ve anlam katmanındaki işlevleri ortaya konulmuştur. Ait oldukları toplumun değerlerini, inançlarını, edebiyatını, mitolojisini ve dünya görüşünü yansıtan masal ve motiflerin Padişah ve Kızı masalında da benzer işlevleri yerine getirdiği görülmüştür. Bu bağlamda söz konusu masalda yer alan motifler hem Türk kültürü hem de halkbilim açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Anadolu masal geleneğinin temel özelliklerini taşıyan; kader, yasak ve dönüşüm temaları etrafında örülen Padişah ve Kızı masalındaki motifler, masalın olay örgüsünü biçimlendirmenin yanı sıra Türk kültürünün mitolojik, ahlaki ve estetik yönlerini yansıttığı da görülmüştür. Bu nedenle çalışma, halk masallarının kültürel hafızayı taşıyıcı niteliğini vurgulamaktadır.

In the work Anadolu Masalları (Gerçekleşen Rüya) [Anatolian Tales (The Dream That Came True)], the motifs found in the tale “The Sultan and His Daughter” have been identified using a qualitative research method. The motifs within the tale were classified through the analytical frameworks of Turkish folk literature, mythology, religion, and folklore. Fundamental motifs such as prohibition, trial, wolf, fate, and death were examined in relation to their functions within the narrative structure and layers of meaning. It was observed that the tale and its motifs, which reflect the values, beliefs, literature, mythology, and worldview of the society to which they belong, fulfill similar functions in “The Sultan and His Daughter.” In this context, the motifs in the tale were evaluated from both Turkish cultural and folkloristic perspectives. Reflecting the essential characteristics of the Anatolian folktale tradition, the motifs woven around the themes of fate, prohibition, and transformation not only shape the plot structure but also reveal the mythological, moral, and aesthetic dimensions of Turkish culture. Therefore, this study emphasizes the role of folk tales as carriers of cultural memory.
