Abstract

Nasreddin Hodja is a public educator lived among the Anatolian folk living in poverty and undergo caused by Crusade and Mongolian occupations during XIII century who tried to heal their bleeding wounds. He enhanced the solidarity power of the society despite the experienced chaos period by endeavoring to demonstrate the existing easy ways when overcoming each severity. Hodja, with an indulgent and optimistic character, educated the people in sense of humour, beside inspiring hope and joy of living to people by his wits full of wisdom and lessons he also reminded us about the lost values of our culture. He examined the paradoxes, discongruities, deviations in the society by simply punishing them by satire. He is an universal personality overflowing beyond the Turkish world with his ideas comprising friendship, optimism, solidarity, and indulgence.
