The impressions of Tanpınar, who spent his childhood and youth in different cities due to his father's profession, are effective in creating his aesthetics. After all, the emphasis on emotion and musical elements in poetry, dream motif, concepts of time and eternity, contrasts, perfection in language are the key words of his poetical style. Tanpınar does not have any work published under the name of poetics. He wrote his views on poetry in various magazines and newspapers. Zeynep Kerman compiled these articles of him, expressing his views on poetry, under the name of "Articles on Literature" (Edebiyat Üzerine Makaleler).
