THE EFFECTS OF COMMUNITY CULTURE ON ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE: THE CASE OF A PRIVATE SCHOOL

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to examine the effects of community culture dimensions on organizational culture dimensions. In the study, the results of the cultural research conducted by Hofstede in the 1970s and the results tested on the employees of a private school chain in Turkey were analyzed comparatively. Convenience sampling method was used in the research which was designed in quantitative design. The Individual Cultural Values Scale was used to measure community culture and the Organizational Practice Scale was used to measure organizational culture. In the study, the data obtained from 549 participants were evaluated and descriptive analyzes, difference analyzes, factor analyzes, correlation and regression analysis were carried out. As a result of the research, it was observed that there was a significant positive relationship between the dimensions of community culture and organizational culture. In the interaction of community culture and organizational culture, it was observed that the rate of explaining the organizational culture sub-dimensions of the community culture sub-dimensions was at a very low level.
