Abstract
Bu çalışmada öncelikle Aristoteles’in Poetika metnindeki tragedya tanımından yola çıkarak modern trajedinin tahlil unsurları tespit edilmiştir. Bu unsurlardan ilki, felsefe sahasında trajik olanın tanımından hareketle belirlenmiş olan olumlu değerlerin karşı karşıya kaldığı değer çatışmasıdır. Değer çatışmasına düşen karakterin tercihi neticesinde yüksek olumlu değerlerden birinin diğer değeri yok ederek varlığını devam ettirmesi, trajediyi mümkün kılar. İkinci unsur, olumlu değer taşıyıcısı olan trajik kahramandır. Çünkü trajik sona sürüklenebilecek kişinin değerlerle en azından ortalamanın üstünde bir ilişkiye ve olumlu karakter özelliklerine sahip olması gerekir. Üçüncü unsur ise estetik bir değer olarak yüce kavramıdır. Yüce kavramı bir tahlil unsuru olarak ele alınırken trajedinin değerlerle, dolayısıyla etikle olan ilişkisinin yanı sıra seyirci/okurda yaratması beklenen duygu esas alınmıştır. Tespit edilen bu üç unsur çerçevesinde Murathan Mungan’a ait Mezopotamya Üçlemesi’nde yer alan metinler tahlil edilmiş ve modern trajedi türünün tahlilinde yeni bir yaklaşım sunulmuştur.

Abstract
In this study, first analytical elements of modern tragedy have been identified through the definition of “tragedia” in Aristoteles’ text of Poetika. The first of these elements is the clash of values that positive values which were determined by the definition of what is tragic in the field of philosophy have come to face with. As a result of the preference of the character that gets caught with the clash of values, tragedy is manifested as one of the high positive values dispose of another and maintains its existence. The second element is the tragedy hero who carries the positive value because the one who slides into a tragic end should at least have an above average relationship with values and positive character traits. The third element is related to the concept of “supreme” as an artistic value. The concept of supreme is taken as an element of analysis together with the emotion expected to impact the reader/audience in addition to the relationship of tragedy with values, in other words ethics. Within the framework of these three elements identified, texts in “Mesopotamia Triplet” by Murathan Mungan have been analyzed and a new approach in analyzing the type of modern tragedy has been presented.
