Abstract
Osmanlı I·mparatorlugˆu’nun maddeci tarih analizi yapılırken ve toprak mülkiyeti sistemi anlaşılmaya çalışılırken, üzerinde durulması gereken konulardan biri de o¨zellikle 1960’ların ikinci yarısından itibaren, Tu¨rkiye siyasi düşünce hayatında bir tartıs¸ma konusu haline gelen Asya Tipi U¨retim Tarzı’dır (ATU¨T). Bu c¸alıs¸manın amacı, Tu¨rkiye’de ATU¨T tartıs¸malarının nasıl bas¸ladıgˆını ve gelis¸tigˆini kavramsal bir c¸erc¸eve ic¸erisinde ortaya koyabilmektir. Bu yapılırken o¨ncelikle ATU¨T kavramının ne ifade ettigˆinin anlas¸ılabilmesi ic¸in bir literatu¨r taraması yapılmıs¸, ulusal ve uluslararası kaynaklardan yararlanılmıs¸tır. Daha sonra Tu¨rkiye’de ATU¨T tartıs¸malarının gelis¸imi incelenmis¸tir. Du¨nyada ATU¨T tartıs¸maları 1920’lerde bas¸larken Tu¨rkiye’de bu tartıs¸maların ancak 1960’lardan sonra bas¸ladıgˆı go¨ru¨lmu¨s¸tu¨r. Bu durumun nedenleri arasında ilk olarak digˆer fikir akımlarında oldugˆu gibi bunda da eles¸tirici, aras¸tırıcı ve tam olarak bilimsel olunamamıs¸ olması vardır. Digˆer taraftan 1960’larla birlikte yeni bir tarih anlayıs¸ı olus¸mus¸, az gelis¸mis¸lik ve geri kalmıs¸lık gibi kavramlara, Osmanlı I·mparatorlugˆu ve Tu¨rkiye Cumhuriyeti bagˆlamında daha fazla ilgi gösterilmeye bas¸lanmıs¸tır. Tu¨rkiye’nin az gelis¸mis¸ligˆinin nedenleri Osmanlı I·mparatorlugˆu’nun siyasi, sosyal, iktisadi yapısında ve Batı ile artan iktisadi ilis¸kilerinde aranmaya bas¸lanmıs¸tır.

Abstract
When it is aimed to understand materialist history analysis and land ownership system of the Ottoman Empire, one of the subjects need to be focused is Asiatic Mode of Production (ATÜT) which has become a topic of debate in the movement of Turkish political thought at the second half of the 1960s. The aim of this study is to reveal, in a conceptual framwork, how the ATÜT discussions began and develop in Turkey. While doing this, at first, a literature review was made in order to understand what the concept of ATÜT refers to and national and international sources were utilized. It is seen that while worldwide discussions on ATÜT began in the 1920s, it was began just after 1960s in Turkey. One of the reasons is that just as the other thought movements, people cannot be critical, investigative and exactly scientific on this issue. On the hand, with the 1960s a new historical conception emerged and the concepts as underdevelopment drew interest in the context of Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic. The reasons of underdevelopment of Turkey, began to be sought in the political, social and economic structure of Ottoman Empire and increasing economic relations with the West.
