One of these natural resources is undoubtedly tourism. Tourism resources, as the other resources, raise more attraction of the place where it is. Undoubtedly, geographical location of the region has a special importance on the evaluation of this resource. Resources in nature sometimes exist together or separate from each other to their species. Some of them have a special importance as they exist rarely in the region and country or in the world. One of these rare resources is Naftalan Oil in Gence-Kazak Economic Region of Azerbaijan Republic area (nearly 340 kilometres west from Baku).This resource which started to serve the people ages ago, differs mainly from other health tourism resources by lots of its features. In this study, Naftalan city where Naftalan Oil that is rare health tourism resource stands, is researched. In other words, geographical location of Gence-Kazak Economic Region where the resource stands is evaluated under the light of current events in the region. Main characteristics of Naftalan Oil, the most important tourism resource of the region, are evaluated in aspect of the health tourism and the importance of the resource on region’s tourism is mentioned.},author={Fatih İMAT},year={2015},journal={The Journal of Social Sciences}}
