ANALYSIS OF PREGNANT WOMEN’S NUTRITIONAL HABIT

Abstract

The research is planned as defining with the aim of identifying feelings and thoughts about pregnant women’s nutritional habit, using cigarettes and alcohol. The research is carried out in the city of Kayseri, Develi strict in May and June months of 2016. Total 50 pregnant women accepting the research constitue the sample of the research. “ Nutritional Habit in Pregnancy Survey Form” and “Personal Information Form” which are developed by the researchers as a vehicle of gathering data are used. When the findings are evaluated, it has been found that the highest ratio (% 68.0) belongs to pregnant women between 21-35 age. These women have stated that % 42.0 of them this is their first pregnancy, more than half of them (% 70.0 ) haven’t got a problem about nutritional habit, % 84.1 of them haven’t applied a special diet for pregnancy period, % 86.0 of them haven’t got a chronic disease, 96.0 % of them don’t use alcohol and % 84.0of them don2t use cigarette. Cosidering the thoughts about pregnant women’s nutritional habit, pregnant women have expressed that % 30.0 of them eat meal once a day, % 36.0 of them consume fresh vegetable and fruit daily, more than half of the pregnant women joined the research (% 66.0) consume a porsion of milk or its varieties. More than half of the pregnant women have expressed that they don’t know calori amount of what they eat during pregnancy. It has been thought that it is essential to train pregnant women about healty nutrition. Sample’s smallness is a hinder to generalize the results. It is suggested that similar workings should be done with larger samples to reach more general results.
