This paper aims to introduce a composer called Mahmut Oğul, also a music teacher who was born in Merzifon devoted his life to Turkish music. The paper also deals with to introduce lyrics and compositions which Mahmut Oğul gained to Turkish Art music. Expressing his concept of art with this sentence "I am in the effort, as a composer to compose music with right and easy understanable words, also which has access to the beauty in the simplicity”, Mahmut Oğul composed the most popular Turkish Art music songs of the 1980’s and 1990s and particularly his songs came into life with many artists like Emel Sayın, Bülent Ersoy, Çoşkun Sabah.
