Abstract

In this study the second unit of the MEB 9th grade textbook of the 2019-2020 academic year geography named “humane systems”(settlements) was examined in the context of the relationship between geography, history and archeology. Conceptual wealth knowledge which have disciplines of geography, history and archeology affects the building processes of the past with ıts accumulation of principles and generalization.This feature shows that ıt has an interdiscipline characteristics. In this context textbook unit which subject of the study has been handled in terms of these theree disciplines. In research shown that topics of unit especially geography discipline is enough for nineth grader however in terms of the relationship of geography,archeology and history is not enough in visual and box of knowledge which given about visual amount of measurement and evaluation questions and question types were observed that ıt is not desire level. This condition constituted the reason of research. The inner class works or projects adjusted according to quality of subject can be used in the application of interdisciplinary teaching approach affectivelly. “The field study section” and “The field study cheklist” section in the unit make superior in this sense. When diversity of subject and richness of content handled,work was limited only units of human system. Cause of suitable aim of research document analysis which from qualitative research method and analysis of content was used. The information and visuals in the textbook which have an inportant place in terms of educational activities should be considered with the correctness. Furthermore measurement and evaluation questions should be distributed in balance to subject and different question types should be provided to relation of all subjects. When the unit was evaluated the validity of interdisciplinary has not been achieved.These situations were taken into account together and some recommendation were made.
