Abstract

Strengthening relations between the religions is the common responsibility of the whole society with a view to promoting respect towards human rights- our common values- democracy and law, preventing future conflicts and enhancing political orientation. The main aim of the present study is to determine the views of religious culture and moral knowledge teachers towards teaching of other religions except for Islam and thus, offering suggestions. The population of the study is composed of 401 religious culture and moral knowledge teachers working in Kahramanmaraş in the fall term of 2015-2016. Tukey test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Post hoc test to determine differences between groups were used during data analysis process. It was determined that having knowledge about the other religions will have a positive impact upon the relationships between people from different religions and it will be effective in terms of the evaluation of world's political, economic and cultural events; moreover, it was identified that relations between the other religion members will contribute to the solution of the problems occurring around the world and world peace. During the teaching of other religions except for Islam; historical development, belief systems, worship, rites and ceremonies of these religions, and their comparison with Islam have been recommended.
